How do I know what type of mail client I currently have installed? I am running Redhat 7.1 w/2.4.2 kernel.

When I type mail, it will say no mail for my user account, but basically I want to learn more about it so I can use it more.

thanks

There are a variety of mail clients probably installed on your computer.

By typing mail at the command prompt you are really looking for local mail, probably in /var/mail/userid. There are many pop3 clients to choose from, Pine and Kmail are my favorites.

Eudora has a client, its almost endless. If you use KDE look for kmail, you will have to setup the mail client to point to your mail server.

Look for /usr/bin/evolution on your system. That's my personal favorite.

I can mail someone from it but if they try to reply back to me, the mail cannot get thru to me. A mailer daemon.

Do I need some sort of mail server running or I'm not sure what the problem is?
