Questions:
1) Do I need the AX.25 drivers compiled into my kernel (or as modules), or will I be able to get by without them?
2) What terminal program should I use?
3) When I type:
echo Hi > /dev/ttys0
I get:
cannot open /dev/ttys0: Input/output error

How can I fix that? (in my case, it's connected to /dev/ttys0--/dev/ttyS0 does not exist).

Haven't been able to find answers to these anywhere...

Here's a link to a Linux software repository for Ham Radio.

Ham Radio (http://radio.linux.org.au/).

I don't run Linux packet software as most of my Han Radio apps don't have a Linux alternative that measures up to the Windows variants. Everytime I've done a Kernel upgrade in the past I've just compiled the AX.25 stuff in.

Our local BBS runs on a Slack box.

Here's a link to the AX.25 How-to.

What's UR Call? :)

Yeah, my TNC came with software, too (and it's probably be a lot easier), but I'm trying to keep my hard drive pure (i.e. free of closed-source software).
