I've been trying to understand this...

I downloaded the latest Linux Flash version, and all of the internet ads and cartoons are coming up...

But if I try to download a flash file, it saves an "exe" file (DOS/Windows file), and refuses to run in Linux. I figured since I had flash, it would handle it... but I was wrong...

I guess my question is: Do I need to setup WINE to get around this, or is there a better way?

No, you have to download the Flash Installer for LInux.

There you go ;)

Darksamurai already has Flash working in the browser, but the problem is running downloaded Flash apps, serz.

I guess you may need Wine or the Crossover 'plugin' for those Flashfile.exe apps (games, etc.?). Otherwise *.swf files should work just fine within your Flash enabled browser.
