I mean simple, not complicated. scinerd 04-30-2003, 10:31 PM I started with "a practical Guide to linux" by mark sobell. It starts realy basic but it's a thick book so I still use it and I manage a few hundred linux machines. There is a new version out of this book for redhat 8 which I have not read but from what I have seen of this author I would think it would be perfect for what you want. link to the book on amazon http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0201703130/qid=1051756231/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_1/103-3887955-2033438?v=glance&s=books&n=507846 miggab 04-30-2003, 10:42 PM Thanx gleather 04-30-2003, 10:54 PM Rute - see my sig Running Linux and the Sobel book mentioned above. NotQuiteSane 05-01-2003, 01:51 AM I found the linux cook book easy to understand. I know there's a refrence book that list every bash command w/ examples I'd like to get (if i wasn't broke) NQS justlinux.com
