Apart from the lame subject.. lol , so what would you people suggest best? i have them both on my RH7 box.. im switching between them to get the feel of each one.. but wich one, in your opinion, is best "all-around"
I for example, find more useful the printer spooler app that uses KDE, very similar to the one windows 9x uses and i'm familiar with... in GNOME i've only found (so far) how to add a "Print" icon to the panel.. but
thats it...

Also, some good places to download "getting started" and "using" documentation on KDE and GNOME?

thanks a lot for all the input i've received so far..

I've found that both are equally good. It's a matter of preference. People say that KDE is more "Windowish". Personally I see little difference. As for documentation, both of the official sites for KDE and GNOME have online documentation available. Also, if you click on the Help icons you should get a short beginner tutorial.

I must say that Ximian (Helix-code) Gnome is great. Its easy to keep up with all the updates. If you want teh best, Ximian Gnonme is what I recomend.

KDE2 is one of the best interfaces I've used. Konqueror is a superb browser and one of the best available for Linux. I've had no problems keeping up to date with the latest versions. KDE2,IMO, definitely feels a lot like Windows on drugs (without the bugs and crashing), and personally, I think that's a Good Thing(TM). I haven't used the latest Ximian-GNOME, but the last time I did, it was too buggy for my taste. KDE2 gives that nice feel of tight integration without actually being so. KDE2, AFAIK, is also quite a bit more modular than GNOME.

Use whatever you feel comfortable with; it doesn't matter if it's twm or KDE2...

Gnome. It's really a preference, but besides KDE being uglier IMO, I was really turned off by seeing a "Wizard." That was too much of a rip off of windows for me to take.
