Suggested O/S

Hi,

I am totally new to the world or Linux. I am currently undertaking my MCSE in W2k. I apoligise!
However, I wish to delve into the world of Linux.

Which O/S is a good platform to start on? A friend of mine has recommended Red Hat 7.0?

any ideas please.

also, search the forum (http://www.linuxnewbie.org/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=search) for things like "best distro" or "favorite distro"

and, lastly, all of the Linux distributions (Red Hat, Mandrake, etc) are the same OS - Linux. They are just different distributions.
