Monitor out of range

Hey guys,

I got my SuSE 8.1 installed on my box, but when i boot i get a screensaver looking mesage that moves aruond the screen that looks like a box with "out of range" in it then there is another box inside it that says "Hf: 30KHz - 70Hz" and undernneith it it says "Uf: 50Hz - 160Hz" then back in the other box in the bottom flashing in red it says "80.4 KHz - 76Hz."

I have no idea what kind of monitor i have right now.

Can i get some suggestions on how to change this without having to reload the OS?

Type in Ctrl-Alt-Backspace, see if that brings you to the terminal. Then run xf86config in the CLI. Look on the back of your monitor for refresh rate information. Hope I helped!
