Does anyone know of a beta or eval version of this floating around?

I don't think that SuSe ever has beta or eval versions. I think that new version just contain updated software, like KDE2 and StarOffice 5.2, nothing really new that would make it buggy, at least that's the impression I'm left with after visiting their site.
