I have a Windows 2000 Pro partition and also running Mandrake 7.2 on my Linux side. I mounted the win2k partition so I could use my windows files while in Linux, but I can only read the files and can not write to the windows partition from Linux. Is this due to Win2K and NTFS or am I doing something wrong? Can I R/W on my Win2K partition from Linux - if so please tell me how? I followed the instrunctions for mounting a parttion from the linuxnewbie NHF's Misc section, but so far I can only read files and only as root also. Is there something keeping me from read/writing as another user. How do I setup the partition so anyone can use it from Linux. Thanks.

No, it is not you, this is a problem many a people are working on. There is an experiemental R/W support, but it is very dangerous, and I've heard too many stories of how it fsck's up NTFS data, so I don't recommend it at all.
