I am a general newbie to Linux. With that said please don't run away. :)
I have a joytech apollo media 2 agp video card. I have used this card with Mandrake 8.? with no problems. I have just upgraded to RH 9. When I login as a user the bottom of the screen shifts up about a 1/4 of the screen. This also cuts the top of the video off. No adjustment from the monitor will allow the top of the video to be seen(even though I can select things off screen with the mouse.) If I log in as root from the start the screen is fine.
I am using the generic Vesa card driver. This is the one that RH picked and any deviation will not run x. I have done a search for a driver for this card but came up empty. I even email joytech because they do support linux drivers with some of their newer cards. No response. This card as worked with linux before and is working fine in root.
Help please...:)
Thanks
