I will try to make this as short as possible....
Ok, here is the thing, I had Redhat 7.2 on my laptop (Dell Inspiron 3200) and wanted to upgrade to RH9, after trying to install it about 800 times, I came to the conclusion that my CD-ROM was not working correctly. Yes, the CD's them selves are fine as i used the same set to install RH9 on a desktop machine, and my system meets the required minimum specs. I was able to get RH9 on my laptop by taking the hard drive out and attaching it to a desktop computer via a laptop hardrive to IDE cable. It seems to be running great now that its back in the ol' laptop, however..... Its not detecting the PCMCIA cards, and since my network card is a PC card (D-Link DE-660), I cant access my LAN. RH9 auto detected everything else in the laptop and I made adjustments accordingly. I tried to do a manual change to the nic, but I could not find the my card in list. How can I get Redhat to detect my PC cards? I'm not super experienced with Redhat, so please use terms a n00b can understand. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated, I mis having redhat on my little old laptop.
