Hi...
I'm running Mandrake Linux 7.2 on my system. Upon a reboot, the system stopped and dumped me out to a command prompt. It found an error on the disk that can't be autofixed. So I had to fsck it manually. And below is the message I get. Can any of you guys tell me what this mean? Is my disk physically bad? It's talking about blocks... Beaucoup thanks in advance!
#####
fsck /dev/sda1
Parallelizing fsk version 1.19 (13-Jul-2000)
ef2fsck 1.19, 13-Jul-2000 for EXT2 FS 0.5b, 95/08/09
/dev/sd1 contains a files system with errors, check
forced.
Pass 1: Checking inodes, blocks, and sizes
Error reading block 473759 (Attempt to read block from
filesystem resulted
in short read) while reading indirect blocks of inode
228557. Ignore error<y>?
