Okay, now, I have done major research on this, and have spent about 3 hours working to get IceCast running. I'm starting to go a little insane for something that seems like a very simple thing.
Here is what I have done so far: installed Lame MP3 Encoder; installed and configured IceCast; installed and configured LiveIce. Now, the problem occurs when I do this.
I run IceCast by typing at the bash prompt: icecast & (NOTE: I am running this as a normal user, not root.) This seems to run fine.
I next run LiveIce by typing: liveice &
The problem occurs here. For some reason, LiveIce always tells me that icecast is not OKing the password. I checked. Both passwords match up in the config file. So, I'm very confused as to what is goinig wrong here.
So, if anybody has had a similar problem, I'd appreciate any help with it. If not, I'll keep plugging away. Thank you.
