Looking for firewall software

I want to set up a firewall on my Debian 3 computer to protect my LAN. Does anyone have a favorite for firewall software? Or have a good, fairly simple set of iptables rules?

is great if you are going to put an old PC in the way to act as a firewall, or you can use IPCHIANS or even glokkit that comes with most distro's

Has anyone every used an app called Firewall Builder? It is the subject of one of the columns in the May 2003 Linux Journal. LJ says you can get it from http://www.fwbuilder.org. I thought that I might check it out but wondered if anyone had ever used it before.
