It took me 4 hours to get my Windows 2000 fully functional and running

Driver installations (VGA, Chipset blah blah blah)
Adobe Photoshop
Acrobat Reader
Microsoft Office XP
Nero Burning ROM
Windows 2000 Service Pack 3
J2SDK
Kazaa
Internet Explorer 6.0
Norton Anti-Virus
Divx 5.0 bundle
Xvid Codec
MiRC
WinZip
ICQ
MSN Messenger
Configuration/Customization

I know you could have ghost the whole disk, what the hell for?

Mandrake 9.1 did what was listed above in 1 hour.

Any alternative views?

Took me about an hour and a half to install WinXP with all the extras I wanted, except games.
Took about a month to install RH8.0; that was how long it took before I got used to it to the point where I could use it to totally replace Windows save gaming.
It was worth it, definitely.
Now I wonder if my Windows activation will kill itself when my license ends at the end of this month(College license).
Eh, who cares. I think I have Win98 somewhere to run my games.

Yah, Linux isn't that hard to configure and install once you get the hang of it. I'm having no success even installing Windows.

I took me around 30 minutes installing Mandrake 91. and be functionnal (that means with all needed applications).

Takes around the same time for WinXP without any applications.

For more in formation, give a look at Use Linux At Home (http://www.uaselinuxathome.com/ENindex.htm) . I simply follow the step in the tutorials for system, java and applications installation.
