winex3 with ati radeon 8500le

I just installed red hat 8 and then installed the drivers for ati radeon 8500le which i got from ati.com. the problem i am facing is that winex does not run games the ati drivers i got from their website. but when i use the ati drivers bundled with red hat 8 winex runs all games. however i cannot use the bundled drivers becos they do not give me any 3d acceleration.
what should i do to make winex run with the ati drivers i downloaded?

WineX is mostly geared towards nVidia cards (as you've discovered) and there are lots of discussions at www.transgaming.com about getting ATi cards working properly with WineX.
