RedHat 9... buggy?

I have been using RedHat 9 for about 4 days now, and it has already given me Segmentation faults on XMMS and OpenOffice.org Writer (two software applications I use a lot). This is after no major change to the OS. Is it me or is RH 9 really buggy? I am thinking of going back to Mandrake or trying Debian....

i`ve had the same problem with every RH release, but have not tried 9 yet. each time i run rhn_register, followed by up2date to get the system properly patched. once i loaded some bent cd`s, because i failed to verify the media. if you verify the media and run up2date you should be ok.

i've been using it for almost a week -- seems much more stable to me. 8.0 just didn't play right on my system.

i've only had one lockup, and that was when my 1 year-old daughter was pounding on my keyboard when i wasn't looking. a reset and fsck, and it's all good.
