samba save wierd prob

OK. I can access my samba fileshare. Cut copy paste delete all that. I can open a file write to it and hit save and it saves it. Here is the wierd part. I open lets say a word doc. edit it and hit save as. I hit the drop down and select D: (witch is the samba file share) and then the whole file save process just hangs????
Any clues?

What version of samba are you using. Other thing that might be happing is that you need to create the file first on your machine then drop it in your samba server. I will try that tomorrow at work to see if I get the same error message. Hit me up tomorrow to find out if it worked.
