Whenever I install K3B burning software, I get the message

checking for Qt... configure: error: Qt (>= Qt 3.0.3) (headers and libraries) not found. Please check your installation!
For more details about this problem, look at the end of config.log.

I downloaded and installed Qt 3.0.5. then I tried to Install K3B like this, (i found this syntax in the K3B configure file)...

./configure --with-qt-dir=/usr/lib/qt-3.0.5/lib/

I still got the same message. Has anyone else got this problem?

What Distro are you using? I know that i couldn't install K3b on RH 8.0 a little while back. There were issues with a version of Python that K3b was created on and the newer version that RH used. I don't believe that that issue has been fixed

Son of a....

Yes, I am a RH8 user. Would it help to upgrade to 9?

No, the isses is with K3b not being developed with the latest tools (this is not a knock on K3b it is a lot like Nero and I like it very much) I believe you will have the same problem in RH 9.0. There may be something on it at k3b.org

If this an app that you really want, I know that Mandrake 9.1 comes with K3b in the basic install. I just installed it on one of my machines and it worked great.

Okay, well that sucks... Are there any other good burning apps that work with RH8? I know of xcdroast.
