I was just about to attempt to install Mandrake 7.2 for the first time, when I ran into a problem. I cant boot from the CD for some reason. I can boot from Windows CDs just fine, but my computer doesnt even recognize this CD. I downloaded the iso from linuxiso.org and burned it using fireburner(which I always use to burn iso/bin) and it burned just fine. I tried using isobuster to look at it, and it wont open it either. I have reburned already--same thing. Could I have d/l a bad iso or am I just making some really stupid newbie mistake? Any ideas?

Did you enable the "bootup from CD" option in the BIOS?

Is it possible to extract the iso onto your harddrive using a windows extractor? If it is, then chances are the ISO isn't bad. Give it a try, cause those things are HUGE and you don't wanna be downloading them all the time.
