I am interested in upgrading to the latest kde version.
According to the install pages on the kde site there are 11 packages associated with the upgrade. When I proceed to download the necessary files there are two types..
I am told for example I need kdebase.rpm when I go to download this file I also see a kdebase-devel.rpm file?

Which one should i use?

What distro?

When I did my upgrade on my SuSE 8.1 system, I downloaded the 'base' rpms they have on their site and then did a rpm -Uvh -force *.rpm

that was pretty much it.

Then I downloaded any other application stuff that I wanted to upgrade.

do a search and there are some threads on this. Doing it the way I did I had no problems.
