There's free online books available here http://infobase.informit.com/linux/ although you will have to register first. jrbush82 02-20-2001, 01:17 PM Running Linux has been a great book for me. I'm a newbie, and it reads well. f'lar 02-20-2001, 03:14 PM I haven't read either, but I know there are a good number of people on this board who would (and have repeatedly) recomend Running Linux by O'Reilly. Lend273 02-20-2001, 08:34 PM I have Running Linux............it's great. Len bobtcowboy 02-21-2001, 01:35 AM Running Linux (3rd ed) is really good, but getting slightly dated... I'm a newbie and find it interesting and informative... check the NHF's, and do a forum search for more info Bill Coral Sea 02-21-2001, 01:52 AM My first "real" Linux book was Running Linux 3rd Edition. I had an abridged 1st Edition when I first got into Linux. Running Linux is excellent. However, I also have Peter Norton's Complete Guide to Linux which I've found to be more concise, i.e., less prosy than Running Linux. If I had to pick between the two, I'd go with Peter Norton's book. justlinux.com
