kill gmc and it comes right back

Im running Nautilus right now and I accidentally opened up gmc (force of habit)
so know I have all this gmc desktop crap on top of my normal nautilus desktop.

Now every time I kill the gmc using top, it just restarts itself. Is there a way to kill it so it wont do that.

in gmc there is a menu option for close or exit or something.. that should do it.. DON'T use the [x] to close it will only close the windows you have to use the menu options within gmc and it will close and remove the icons.. etc..
