I was hoping someone could help m eout. I have been trying repeatedly to get my cable internet accress through Rogers@Home in southwestern Ontario Canada to work. I have looked over many posts on the subject and have tried DHCPcd, Static IP manual config, everything I have read around. Yet still no luck!! I have been at it for three days now and am getting a bit discouraged! I really want to get this puppy working, I would love to ditch windows but cant until I get this going. Can someone help?
Some of the odities are, and I'm not sure if this has anything to do withmy problem, but my ATA100 Harddrive is on the same IRQ as my NIC, also, when I do a "ifconfig" all I get it the lo device, not the eth0, but when I do a "ifconfig -a" they both show... is this normal??
Anyways, I can ping lo but I dont know if that actually goes through the nic so I am not sure if the nick is the problem or what, I am totally dumbfounded. I have included a bunch of output from various commands like dmesg, ifconfig, route, ping...
Anyone have any suggestions or that can help this newbie out??
Mike
