Hello.
I just installed Mandrake 7.2 two days ago and I've got some problems with it:

1. It found the right sound driver and installed it, still sound doesn't work. I also tried some different drivers but it still wouldn't work. (Cirus Logic card)

2. I only have Internet-access over my dad's computer which is running WinProxy 1.5. I got my browser and e-mail client to work with it, but the IRC-client still strikes because it can't find a DNS-server. Wel, the problem is, I don't have a local DNS ;) So what do you suggest? Is there a way to just get it to work wihtout a DNS-server? I mean, mIRC works fine wihtout specifing a DNS-server.

3. This isn't really a problem, I was just wondering, is there a way I can send an e-mail from a shell?

Thanx in advance!

1. Try doing a Google search for your sound card.

2. Could you try using your isp's DNS servers?

3. Send mail from the commandline? Use the 'mail' command. 'man mail' should give you the correct commandline syntax.
