dual cd/dvd rom - xine

im a youngin to linux and gaining strength every day and my question pertains to my laptop (one of three computers with linux on it now ;) is there anything special i need to do to symbolicaly link my cd/dvd rom drive for using XINE? thanks again for any help given :rolleyes:

alot of people do some useless symlink to the phoney device /dev/dvd but all i have ever need to do is make sure tht the dvd input in the xine control panel has the path to the cdrom/dvd device. so if your dvd/cdrom is /dev/cdrom0 then that is what the path should be in your dvd input line.

also be sure you have libdvdread and libdvdcss installed. if your distro is using the newer 1.0 beta version of xine-lib then you should not need to get a menu plugin as dvdnav is now built into the lib source.
