After battling on in silence for a couple of weeks and many forays into the justlinux forums, I have decided it's time to ask for a little help.!!

I have an ADSL connection to my ISP this is connected via a D-Link DSL-500 ADSL Router. My ISP has provided me with a static IP address aaa.bbb.ccc.154, a gateway address aaa.bbb.ccc.153 and a network mask of 255.255.255.252. The ISP also requires that the DSL-500 is set up as a bridge.

For the past 6 months I have used this set up successfully on a Windows XP Pro PC without any problems.

I now have a requirement to setup a Linux PC to use the ADSL router instead of the Windows XP PC.

My problem is that I cannot seem to get past the ISP gateway with pings or tracepath. Ping comes back with 'Destination net unreachable' when I ping the DNS and tracepath to the DNS doesn't get past the first line.

I am currently using Mandrake 8.2, but I have tried Slackware 9.0 with the same result.

I have attached a text file with outputs of commands and configuration files.

Thanks in advance for any help or pointers that may be forthcoming.
