I'm going to install Red Hat 9. I am on a slow connection so my dl will take at least a week :(:(:( Do you need all of the three CDs? Can you just install with the first one and then possibly install the rest later? Can someone roughly tell me what is exactly on each CD (just need to know the major components)?
Also... Will Red Hat 9 run well on a PIII-450 with 320MB RAM?
Lastly..... I'm confused about the different types of installation (workstation, server, desktop). Can I install as one type and then upgrade later? For example, can I install as workstation and then upgrade to server by adding extra packages?
(In case you are wondering why I'm d/ling RH9 on a slow connection, there are several reasons. One: I don't have enough money to spend on experimental software. This is my first Linux installation (apart from some specialized stuff eons ago :) ) so I don't want to buy something I'm not sure about. For instance, I feel that Mandrake is the best but RH seems more popular). Secondly, I want the latest stuff. Rather spend eons d/ling a new version than get a somewhat old version and then upgrade everything individually or as needed).
