Ok just loaded on redhat 6.2 server installation for being able to use as a tes machine. All went fine. Is it possible to then install a gui interface on top of the server installation to make it easier to upgrade etc.

Just type in "startx" (without the quotes, of coure). This will take you usually into the barebones window manager. Right clicking will give you a menu which pretty much doesn't allow you to do anything but load xterm and log out. But you can install other GUIs. My favorite is Gnome with Ximian. Very pretty. If you do a search in the BB you should be able to find the answers on how to load it and set it up so that Gnome will start when you run startx. Crooked justlinux.com
