okay, in Mozilla I entered in the url for my aol address. I enter in my login and password, but some thing like:
"The connection was refused when attempting to contact screenname.aol.com"

I tried using Netscape instead, and it worked.
Is there some security device that I would need to integrate into Mozilla to get it to load aol mail?

You need psm (personal security manager). It comes packaged with all recent builds (I'm not sure how recent, but I'd guess anything release 0.7 and on should have it).

If you don't have psm, you can install it by opening Mozilla and looking in one of the menu items near the right, I think it might be Debug, or possibly Tasks. There should be an item saying "Install PSM."

It's also possible that the build you have doesn't support PSM (because of some bug or another). I'm using a nightly build, 2001012921, and everything seems to work fine (in Linux). You might want to try this build.
