I dunno if this is 100% appropriate to be in this section, bit I figure I will get the best chance for an answer here. Lotta smart people on this board :P Ok im gonna be making a webpage for the honors society club at my school. Im not really a web designer though, I just know it by hobby... I can handle html fairly well. The main problem I get in my ideas for design is in the ease of updating the site. The site will be on webspace at the school which I will have no control over really, so I doubt I will get remote access to maintain it. Certian sections of the page will be updated somewhat freqeuntly and what im looking for is something, well... like this forum. I wanted to make it where the news section of the site for instance can look like a normal news section (subject title, date, small paragraph under, etc) but to be able to write it out like a post. Also mabye the abilily to edit the member section remotely too. So basically I want that with some kind of authentification ability so I can have a private address that I can punch in (or give access to other members also) and then log in with a username and password, then maintain the site to *some* degree. Basically the posting thing would be the big deal. Anyone know of some kind of basic customizable thing I can get to do this without learning php or whatever is suitable for it? I notice a lot of sites use similar looking systems for bullitan boards and the like so im assuming you can download them here or there... Sorry this question is so long but I like explaining things out in detail. The school uses an IIS server btw

Hi

* Go for PHP-Nuke (http://phpnuke.org/) if you want a customisable site. It offers most of what you want.
* As far as this forum is concerned, look at the page_footer - Powered by: vBulletin Version 2.2.8. Don't think its free.
