Hi, I wanted to introduce myself. Back in 2000 I worked for a webhosting company, but only for a few months as I just started my new career in technology. Well, they primarily used BSD....blah, blah and blah to make a very long story short, I have been wanting to learn more about Linux ever since I was introduced to it in 2000.
well, my new job is 3rd shift Systems Administrator and as long as the network is up, I am free to do/learn anything I want. I am going to be hard-core here to learn this (this time). The Distro I use is Redhat 8. I just put it on 2 lab boxes, and want to start with the router. I have 2 network ports in my workspace. the first port is for my Corp box...while the other will go to the linux router.....ok..I am going on too long....I will post if I have questions.
I promise to google any questions that I have, that aren't in my somewhat dated "Running Linux" book by O'Reilly press. I know there are going to be roadblox and headaches as I have tried before, but lost patience. I have 6 hours a night all to myself so I should hopefully learn this on a fast curve.
Just wanted to introduce myself and say that now that I have the freedom (meaning time), I am going to transform into a linux user and eventually save my employer bundles of money in licensing in the future.
