Graphics Driver

Hi,
I'm settings up a laptop, dual boot win2k and redhat 7.0. It's a Toshiba pro 4300, when I install Redhat 7.0 the graphics drivers doesn't pick like in 7.1 so I've upgraded the XFree86 to 4.0.2, 4.0.3, 4.1.0 and none of them work either. Also install RH7.1 stoled the XFree86 files and Xconfig files etc etc and then installed 7.0 again and it still wont work. The graphics card is a S3 Savage IX now I can get teh S3 MX,VX DX but not IX driver to work. O yeah also tried installing the driver of course but no luck there. :(

have you tryed to reconfigure the XF86Config? Go trought step by step with xf86setup or xf86Config? That may solve your problem, also try lowering screen modes and so, pick a generic screen card or standard vga... Also go trought the errors X outputs when you do startx, that solved my problem with configuration.
