Flash 6 movies in Mozilla are slow

All the Flash 6 movies that I've played so far through Mozilla (1.3) are extremely slow and lagy. My system specs follow:

Mandrake 9.1
AMD Athlon XP 2100 (around 1.7 ghz)
512 megs of DDR 2700 ram
GeForce 4 Ti4400
Nvidia 31.23 drivers (latest causes Gnome probs)

The slowdown can't be occuring because of my hardware... or could it? Anyway, any help on this is appreciated.

I have this problem too, but its not too serious. I read somewhere that it has to do with linux's "sound" and if you get ALSA it should clear up. Go to www.google.com/linux and search for ALSA for more. Mandrake probably has mucho RPMs to help you.

I've already got it installed (go figure) and the driver for my sound card is actually an alsa driver. This only happens in mandrake 9.1; in 9.0 the Flash6 plugin ran smoothly.

If you don't mind me asking, have you ever moderated the ForumPlanet Dungeon Siege forums?
