I recently both both a Belkin USB 802.11 card (http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Merchant_Id=&Section_Id=200340&pcount=&Product_Id=122761&Section.Section_Path=%2FRoot%2FNetworki%2E%2E%2End Cables%2FWirelessNetworking%2F) and a Netgear PCI 802.11 card (http://www.netgear.com/products/prod_details.asp?prodID=147). Neither offically supports Linux, and due to warranty reasons I don't want to remove either from the box unless I am certain I can get them to work. I am using Debian 3.0. Can anyone point me to a guide on how to install and configure either card? I am fairly new to linux so a detailed explanation of things like compiling the kernel would be welcome. Thanks.

Apparently the Netgear is a Prism2.5 based card and it should work (at least, according to this post (http://lists.linux-wlan.com/pipermail/linux-wlan-user/2003-February/009288.html) it's a prism2.5 card).

And apparently the Belkin is Amtel-based which has some sort of driver according to this post (http://www.mail-archive.com/linux-usb-users@lists.sourceforge.net/msg06155.html).

Linux Google (http://www.google.com/linux) is your friend. :)
