giFT: no route to host

Im having some trouble with giFT. I start up the daemon using the giFT -d command and then the front end using the giFTcurs command... it starts up ok but it wont connect and I get this message:

Can't connect to the daemon at 127.0.0.1:1213: No route to host (113)

I downloaded both giFT and giFTcurs from cvs...

any help would be appreciated... thanx!

I assume you ran "giFT-setup" before running the daemon?

yes, I ran giFT-setup several times, tried changing some values and stuff but still didnt work...
