G/day All
How do i get from Xwindow (kde) mandrake 7.2 to a "root" command line
I have searched the forum and tried all the "ctrl+alt+backspace","runlevel 3,5,6", changed the "/etc/inittab" file, tried the F keys, they all just get me back to the "localhost' user prompt
I am trying to run (sndconfig) it won't run in localhost and should not be run in Xwindow

help appreciated thanks

what is localhost user prompt? is this your console: localhost@someuser> ? that means your in console, to be root, just type su then root passwd.
