Recently I was fooling around after reinstalling red hat on one of my computers. When I did sndconfig on there it detected and installed my ac97 onboard sound. After installing the module my cmoputer froze up, so I restarted and when it was loading it at boot up the comp froze again there. Now I just installed slackware onto that system and I'm wondering if it is okay to go ahead and use the ac97 onboard sound that came with my asus a7v133 or should I just go out and buy a cheap sound card?
