I had asked a similar question a long time ago, but don't think anyone responded.

Anyway, I'll try this again b/c I can't seem to find an answer.
What is the DEFAULT and BEST setting for cluster sizes when formatting an ext2fs partition for linux...2kb, 4kb, or 8kb? I'm thinking that 8kb is the fastest, but it leaves more wasted space--right?

And besides partition magic, fdisk, and cfdisk, is there any good DOS-based disk partitioners?

Thanks in advance

I use 2kb, but that's because I have a 408-meg hard drive so I need to conserve as much space as possible.
