Are you using wine to install the Windows version?

Check this out (http://icculus.org/~ravage/tacops/) There is a native Linux port available

i tried the installer, but that wont work, it says i have to mount my cdrom, but it is already mounted, that's why i tried it with winex and the windows version is will have a closer look at the url you gave me, maybe i missed something :)

thanks!

Perhaps this (in the readme) has something to do with the problem?

ie. mount /dev/cdrom
export SETUP_CDROM=/mnt/cdrom
sh ./tacticalops-3.1.5-install-x86.run

Note: You MUST export the 'SETUP_CDROM' environment variable as a pre-install
script relies on this. Change the path to match your system cdrom mount point.

Did you download the right installer?
There's one for the US release and one for the European release.

The European version is the CD set that's distributed in Europe. It has a different installer than the English-only version. It has nothing to do with mount, but if your installer is looking for the files on the English-only version, and you have the European one, it may not recognize the CD as being actually there.

Anyone having problems installing this should make sure they have 'microsoft joilet extensions' enabled in their kernel. That solved my problems ;)
