I just got Mandrake Linux 8.0 Powerpack. I put in the first CD and my computer reads it. After a few lines I get an error message saying that it cant uncompress ramdisk 2, press enter to continue. Everything goes fine untill it starts searching for the packages to install, my system will either freeze up or Ill get a message that says something that I totally dont understand. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!! :(

Well, you don't say anything about the hardware you have there, but my first suggestion would be turning OFF PnP OS and Shadow Memory/Graphics in BIOS.

Let us know how things are going.

Cheers :)

Okay ...... now did you try the BIOS suggestions?

Yeah, I tried that and under my BIOS I have neither of those options. I took the original package back today and got a replacement. Im hoping that it was just a bad burn of the disk. I am so sick of Windows. Any other help you might give would be greatly appreciated. Any idea what the error about uncompressing the second stsage ramdisk might be? Thanks :(
