Something is really strange with my LAN at home.
I'm running a RH7.1 "server" this computer is also a gateway to my other computer with Win2k on.
I'm running PMFirewall for the masquerading and stuff.
Everyything seems to work fine, I'm connected to the internet with both computers.

But when I'm trying to get access to a FTP-site (any site, i've tried a LOT of different ones) i revieve an error:
"Illegal PORT Command"

Does anyone have an idea what this means and how to get it to work again.
It did work before!!

Which FTP Client are you using, and have you tried another one?

Cheers :)

I'm using LeechFTP on my Win2k computer.
And I'm pretty sure it has been working before.

I was thinking that maybe the PMFirewall is somehow configured the wrong way.
Is there any specific port(s) on the RH7.1 computer that needs to be open?

I've never heard of the firewall you are using but I do know that it has to allow outbound connections to port tcp 21 (ftp). Maybe its just closed by default.

Hmm, but do I need to open port 21 just to be able to connect to different FTP sites?

I thought I just needed to open port 21 if I would like to run my own FTP-Server.
Correct me it I'm wrong, but this should be the case.
