I tried to down load yahoo messanger and when Iit asked if I wanted to launch file I clicked on it and nothing happend. why? Can someone help me?

What version of yahoo messenger? Which distro are you using? Try typing

ymessenger

on the command line and see what happens.

I down load yahoo messanger and then when I get to install 1RPM packect I get this reply
eplacepkgs --test //home/jrdd/ymessenger-0.99.19-1.i386.rpm;echo RESULT=$?

RESULT=1
what do I do next?

Search on http://rpmfind.net/ for the rpm to fulfill the dependancy

or B:

get gAIM

gAIM actually supports many IM protocols, you simply tell it to load the plugin for yahoo messenger and create an account that uses it.

If you have Gnome installed, you might already have it. try: whereis gaim

And I echo, it's great. Don't screw around with yahoo messenger.

Yahoo messenger doesn't work properly anyway.

You might have to upgrade to the latest gaim to use the yahoo plugin because the one that came with RH8 doesn't connect to yahoo.
