I was wondering if there is the possibility that I might be able to run X windows, and StarOffice on the newest version of Debian (kernal 2.4.x).

Which Debian is that? Potato, Woody, or Sid? But it doesn't matter, you can run X on any of them. Not sure if there's a deb for star office but you could always compile it from source or use alien to convert the RPM to a deb. It's all good SC Derango 09-30-2001, 07:40 AM No deb for star office that I know of. The install program you download from their web site works fine though. justlinux.com
