Is there any way to down load something like Mozzila and just click on it and it will run like in windows? or do you always have to type in comand words? Why cant linux do that. If they made it reasy for use new people then we would use it. But if you always have to type in all these comands the most people wont do it. Is there and answer?

By memory, it seems there are Mozilla rpm's, and that's exactly how they install on Drake and Redhat. If you download the source or the zip versions, yeah, you gotta' unzip or make, etc.

Short answer: Linux is not Windows.

Longer answer: A good portion of the convenience(sp?) of Windows comes at the cost of security. If you use W2K as a user, and the Admin has set all of the security options high, you won't be able to install programs. You would need to log in as an Administrator to make changes that affect the whole system. This helps prevent users from hosing the entire system.

Linux functions this way by default. It is set up so that a user can't make changes that affect the whole system. You have to su to root to do so.

Using the command line also gives you way more control over how and where programs get installed.

If you want a point and click interface, with limited options, continue to use Windows.

If you want an operating system that allows you the freedom to customise it as far as your talents will allow, but takes a little more effort on your part, then learn Linux.
