Hello,
I have a question, would FreeBSD be a good desktop computer? What are its pros and cons? Can you compare it to Linux?

Hi,
this has been debated many times before, particularly in this thread (http://www.justlinux.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=40281 ).
If you still insist on getting answers:
Yes, FreeBSD makes a fine desktop.
Pros: Ports, more secure, more stable, more integrated, easily upgraded, highly configurable, can run linux binaries, free, good documentation
Cons: Lack of new hardware support, lack of games support.
The pros and cons are pretty much my comparison in a nutshell.

I would agree with the pros.
I look at it like this:
If you like Slackware, you'll like Gentoo.
If you like Gentoo Linux, you'll like FreeBSD.
The configuration of both versions of Linux and FreeBSD are somewhat similar. I for one have switched to primarily FreeBSD.
If you like Gentoo Linux, you'll like FreeBSD
so far i have found this to be true. the only troubles i have had with freebsd so far has been setting up X, getting my wireless wheel mouse to work, and trouble with my vaio laptop. once everything works fine, you wont regret it though. E16 is fast as snot!!
