What I want to do is put a SMALL, STABLE, & EASY Linux OS on a Pent.II 266 server (2.1Gb SCSI HD) that will also house a 40Gb IDE HD that will have thousands of Mp3 files on it. These files will be accessed from Windows machines all over the house.
That's all I need this machine to do.
What are your thoughts?
Thanks,
Jim

Try Mandrake 8.1 just released for download! Easiest Distro to date and has Wizards for server and firewall. Truly the best to use right now.

Yep, Mandrake 8.1 (I hope they fixed the bugs) or Red Hat if you need a little more power and stability. I'm liking both of them right now b/c they are the frontrunners in bringing Linux to the desktop.
