When you start it from the command prompt, add a space and a '&' without the quotes. Then you'll be able to close the command prompt without closing AMSN.
./amsn &

when i click on the msn link, it doesnt launch msn, so i i looked in FAQ file, and it said how to creat a link for it, and i thought i did it right but it still doesnt lauch. i right click the icon and click on properties. then in the command box where im suppose to type the command to launch the app, it still does nothing, either im a complete idiot, or else something is wrong. any suggestions.

What exactly are you typing to make the link from your desktop?? You might be putting the wrong path to the application.

alright when i look under the FAQ file, it says to right click the msn icon on my desktop, and click on properties. then in command field, type the path in so that way it will launch. now i looked it up and the path is as follows: /home/tbaker/packages/msn. but this is the wierd thing. wheni looked it up in the frequently asked ?'s(FAQ) file, it shows the properties box where im suppose to enter the path. well there is a little ok button after u type it in to set the command. well when i actually do it, there is no little ok button. i have the options of close, help, revert. so i think thats why i cant set the command. but why isnt there an ok button. thanks for the suggestions.

this is NOT difficult
the path =
/wherever/you/installed/amsn(or msn)/amsn
typically, to run the ap, it is
/home/username/amsn(or msn)/amsn
the app is a script, not a compiled app.
the documentation for this app is on the AMSN web page and it is very simply written.

Hayl... Creech last posted the question back in March.
eye_smell just brought back a old thread and has posted a new question.
