After I boot up to the command line and type startx to start xwindows, I get the error: "no screens found". Can someone help me with what I need to do to fix this? I am running Slackware 8.0.

Can someone help me with what I need to do to fix this? I am running Slackware 8.0. subnet_rx 10-21-2001, 08:12 PM run xconfigurator again. sounds like it can't find a resolution in xfree86-4 X_console 10-21-2001, 09:09 PM xconfigurator doesn't exist in Slackware. Use xf86config havokator 10-21-2001, 09:26 PM Ok I got KDE up and running but it will only work in 640x480 resolution even though I know my video card and monitor can handle higher than that. If I increase the maximum resolution in xf86config, it just makes the edges of the desktop go off the screen instead of making everything smaller. Is there another way to increase the resolution in KDE? kormoc 10-21-2001, 11:29 PM sounds like a problem with you vide drivers, What card do you have and did you install new drivers? X_console 10-22-2001, 01:03 AM You say the edges go off the screen? Did you say "yes" to panning during xf86config? Run xf86config and say "no" to that. justlinux.com
