i am having trouble installing mandrake8.1 for a dual bootup with win98. When ever i get to the installing packages part i always get this error " unable to install urw-fonts-2.0-3mdk.noarch " and once the installation is done and i go into linux the graphical interface is all screwed up. So if anyone could tell me why i might be getting this error or even how to fix it i would be very thankful

Try booting into runlevel 3 (Mandrake commonly boots to runlevel 5)and then try to re-install the urw-fonts rpm.

how would you change the run level of the os, if it is not within the lilo.conf file?

in /etc/inittab, the line that has :id:initdefault: in it - change the 5 to a 3
